For the Fall/Winter 2018-19 season collection of LOVAT&GREEN scarves, we looked for a breath-taking urban location in Bilbao that would not go unnoticed even to the locals who pass by every day; the METRO, @metro_bilbao
An architectural and engineering work designed by Sir Norman Foster, the metro network stands out for its high vaulted ceilings which give a feeling of openness and freedom and for its originality, simplicity and efficiency. The glass marquees, known as ‘Fosteritos’ in reference to their designer, are as striking as the Art Nouveau style marquees of the Paris Metro, designed by Héctor Guimard.
The vestibules hanging from the ceiling give the station aerospace like features of great beauty and functionality. The escalators and lifts that lead to the vestibules stand out and are suspended over the tracks by means of large imposing steel rods.
Special attention should be paid to one of the backgrounds used in some of the shots, the mural photography created in homage to the workers of the iron and steel industry from the beginning of the 20th century. An acknowledgement to all the people who worked hard on the left bank of the estuary, it is precisely where the station of Ansio is located.
“If we look under our floor we will find traces of the past, of what we were and of what continues to sustains us. The foundations on which we are based today”.
This collection stands out for pieces inspired by nature, winter environments, El Valle de Aran, skiing … we incorporate geometric lines, kaleidoscopic designs and as always, spectacular colours.
